No. Companies cannot pay for reviews, influence scores, or guarantee placement in any article or recommendation on this site.
Every review is initiated by our editorial team based on market demand, reader requests, and category relevance. Vendors have zero input into the review process, scoring methodology, or final recommendation. Tools we don't like get honest assessments regardless of their affiliate program status.
When you click a link to a software product and make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the vendor at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate commissions are our only revenue source. We don't run ads, sell data, or charge for access. This model works because it aligns our incentives with yours — we only succeed when we recommend tools people genuinely find valuable. Commission rates vary by vendor and have no bearing on review scores or rankings.
No. We review tools based on market relevance and reader demand, not affiliate availability. Tools without affiliate programs receive the same coverage and evaluation as those with them.
Our review calendar is set by editorial priorities: which categories readers ask about most, which tools are gaining traction in the market, and where gaps exist in available independent reviews. If a highly relevant tool has no affiliate program, we review it anyway and link to the vendor's site without compensation.
Rankings are based entirely on our weighted scoring rubric — performance (30%), ease of use (25%), features (20%), value (15%), and support (10%) — applied identically to every tool in the category.
When two tools score within one point of each other, we note both as top contenders rather than forcing an artificial hierarchy. Category winners can and do change when vendors update pricing, release features, or when competitors enter the market. We have no "permanent sponsors" in any ranking position.
Factual errors are corrected within 24 hours of discovery, with a visible correction note added to the article and the "Last Updated" date refreshed.
If a vendor, reader, or team member identifies an error in pricing, feature availability, or any factual claim, we verify and correct it immediately. Corrections are transparent — we don't silently edit articles. If a correction materially changes a review score, the score is recalculated and the article notes the change.
Vendors can submit corrections or update requests and readers can suggest tools for review by contacting us directly through the site.
We welcome factual corrections from vendors but do not accept pre-written content, suggested scores, or requests to remove negative findings. Reader suggestions for new tool reviews are prioritized in our editorial calendar based on demand frequency.
